What does surface tension mean?

The surface tension (free surface energy or SFE as short form) consists of the total measured surface energy, ie the polar component (+ Pole) and the disperse (- Pole). This value only says something about the wetting ability of the surface, but the polar content of the surface energy has a much greater influence on the adhesion of subsequently applied media (adhesive, paint, paint or embossing foils).
