This question cannot be answered in a generally valid way due to the amount of digital printing technologies and systems available.

Therefore, we recently conducted a comprehensive study and tested different film qualities for their suitability for digital printing. Together with our project partners, we produced test prints using almost all common digital printing technologies and the currently most important digital printing systems, laminated them with different film types at production settings and then tested them under laboratory conditions. The main focus was on the general compound adhesion as well as the foldability and embossability of the laminated prints.
